Top 5 Things Musicians Suck At

Perch Creek
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

In the middle of their national tour, Perch Creek have taken time out from tuning their ‘harmony-driven roots music’, to supply this list: five things musicians suck at, as supplied by their double-bass player, James Chandler.

1. Describing their own sound. “Um, it’s a kind of blend of uh, like, contemporary but like, kinda traditional, um, folk-grass fuzz-pop with gypsy elements.”

2. Eating breakfast before the afternoon. All-day breakfast menus are a musician’s best friend.

3. Cleaning. Cleaning doesn’t sound good, so why do it? Step into any muso sharehouse to see exactly what I mean.

4. Deciding which pair of black jeans goes best with which black T-shirt.

5. Making ‘Top 5’ lists. This Top 5 is a prime example.
