Melbourne stoner-soul rockers Humans As Animals will launch their debut EP, ‘Eukaria’, tonight Thursday August 14 at The Evelyn in Fitzroy.
The group put their heads together and selected their top 5 grunge bands from the ‘90s.
1. Nirvana
Queens of the grunge pool, with more visceral stories underneath the sarcasm. Cobain just rips across the strings and you worship the wrong notes as much as the right ones.2. Primus
Les Claypool is the world's premier fungus salesman and we salute him for it. A creature that could only have emerged from the bowels of America, Colonel Claypool takes you back to the primordial from whence you came.3. Mudhoney
I love Mark Arm's name. I love the fact that Mudhoney started as a joke band without actual instruments and then thought, ‘well shit we may as well do this properly, people seem to dig us’.4. The Melvins
Sludge merchants from way back when. There would be no simpler pleasure than shooting rats with King Buzzo. He'd nail them in the eye in the dark with the BB, guaranteed.5. Soundgarden
An anti-Guns & Roses, but with a seemingly similar lead singer. Not in manner, just in opinion of himself. But Chris Cornell is good looking and he knows it.
