Brisbane's beat-boxing beast Tom Thum is making his way to Adelaide early next year for a stellar 12 shows at The Garden Of Unearthly Delights in Adelaide.
The recipient of the Underbelly Edinburgh Award at the Adelaide Fringe earlier this year, Tom Thum had the opportunity to perform at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He continued on to a phenomenal tour throughout Europe and Singapore and received glowing reviews from international newspapers.
‘Doctors need to study this young man, so unnerving are his vocal capabilities,’ wrote The Gazette; ‘Tom Thum appears to have swallowed an entire orchestra and several backing singers,’ raved The Guardian; ‘There are not enough superlatives to describe the wonder of this beatboxing virtuoso — I am still trying to figure out how he got those sounds out of his mouth,’ suggestively moaned The Daily Telegraph (UK).
This topped off his previous success when he partnered Australian Idol star Joel Turner in the World Beatbox Championships in 2005, and fulfilled almost every artist's dream by performing on Broadway in New York with the Tom Tom Crew. Thum was Australia's best beatboxer five years in a row at the Oz Hip Hop Awards and he also received second place at the Scribble Jam Beatbox Battles (2006); America’s most prestigious hip hop competition.
