Mparntwe/ Alice Springs artist Tom Snowdon, inspired by Jimmy Little's covers album 'Messenger', has released a downtempo, electronic cover of Kylie Minogue's 2001 classic 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.

"I wanted to push myself to explore spaces I'd not normally work in and also to have fun with the arrangements," Tom says.

After a friend propelled him to record a collection of his own covers – both as a nod to the influence of Little and to transition into creating music solo – Snowdon followed his voice and recorded tracks that felt good to sing.

"That Kylie track is such an Australian classic, but is probably a bit outside the space in which I usually work," Tom says.

"But everyone knows that song. The challenge putting it together, as with any cover, was keeping the soul of what's special about the original but also freely interpreting it."

It's not the first amazing cover Tom has created either; his band project No Mono nailed a superb rendition of The Righteous Brothers 'Unchained Melody'.

Tom is also on the verge of releasing his first solo material in the form of EP 'Channel', on 7 October.
