Mix bass music and witty vocals with more swag than your grandma’s twerkin’… and you’ll get the point of Arcane Echo.
While Toddie Spitfire has been rocking the east coast of Australia for more than a decade bringing his high-energy delivery to backpacker bar games as well as the Big Day Out.
Both acts will be performing as part of White Party: New Year's Eve 15, an island festival taking place off the Gold Coast. With the guys good mates, we thought we'd get them to interview each other. Here are the results.
Arcane Echo interviews Toddie Spitfire
What’s the craziest party you’ve ever rocked? The last White Party! Nothing beats doing a New Year's countdown, standing on a crowd barrier to a packed main stage with three pythons wrapped around my neck, after playing drums and spitting fire with my partner in crime Arcane Echo.
How did you get into the MCing and DJ scene?
I was a nightclub bar manager for ten years and got on the mic any chance I could; [I] love making people do crazy shit and I started getting really good at it! Now it's all I do. Nearly every night!
How did you get the name Toddie Spitfire?
I play drums in my crazy-ass-punk band called Spitfireliar. People started calling me Toddie Spitfire in that. It seemed to really fit as an MC name as it suits my high-energy style; then I thought that I should probably learn how to spit fire, so I now spit massive fireballs with Bacardi 151! Burns the shit outta ya mouth though!

Are you into any other genres of music?
I am into punk rock, thrash, metal, screamo and early '90s, New York old-school hip hop! I also love DJing both styles and mashing them all together!
If you could bring back an artist from the dead, who would it be?
Ol’ Dirty Bastard from Wu-Tang!
What’s the most amount of shows you’ve done in a row, and what was your bar tab during that period?
This year I did a run of two months with no nights off with a couple of double-day gigs as well. So 8 weeks x 7 days + about an extra 5 = 61 shows. Faaaarrrkkk! Never added it up before. Nine bottles of Jameson and ten cases of Corona or something like that hahaha!
What’s your favourite past time?
Drinking wine in rural areas and cow tipping.

How many hours of tattooing do you have on your body?
Over 100.

Defqon 1 Festival, and they can eat all the soap they want.
What singles have you released as a solo act and when is your next single set to drop?
I have three new songs ready to go right now, just sorting out release info over the next month or so.
And what does 2016 have in store for us from Arcane Echo?
