One of Australia's most revered cult bands, TISM have resurfaced with the holy grail of news for diehard fans.
After returning to the spotlight at Good Things Festival in 2022, the band with such underground hits as '(He'll Never Be An) Ol' Man River', 'Greg! The Stop Sign!', 'Everyone Else Has Had More Sex Than Me' and 'Saturday Night Palsy' will headline their first tour of Australia since 2004 with stops in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney October-November. Australia, this is serious. Someone notify the Prime Minister! The Death To Art tour is paired with the release today of a new single alongside the announcement of the group's first new album in 20 years (to land 4 October) – with both single and album also called 'Death To Art'.
The 'Death To Art' single follows TISM's 2022 single 'I've Gone Hillsong', the group's first new material in close to 20 years. Last year they released the EP of new material titled 'The C Word'.
If that wasn't enough excitement to make your head burst, TISM have invited four Aussie acts along for the ride with the ageless Eskimo Joe to be joined by indie DIY king Ben Lee as well as the reformation of late '90s, early 2000s sonic lords Machine Gun Fellatio (known for 'Pussytown' and 'The Girl Of My Dreams (Is Giving Me Nightmares)') who are reuniting for the first time in 19 years, and The Mavis's (who have reunited for a number of one-off shows since disbanding in 2001).
"Well lookie here 👀. Thrilled to be announcing that I will be performing as a special guest on TISM's 'Death To Art' Tour! 💥," says Ben Lee. Adds Eskimo Joe: "THIS IS SERIOUS, MUM! We are going on the road with the legendary TISM! Also thrilled to join Machine Gun Fellatio, Ben Lee and The Mavis's."
Tickets on sale from 9am (local time) on 13 August.
