Time To Face The Music

M-Phazes
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

It's the chance of a lifetime for aspiring musos to make connections and learn from some of the very best from all across the globe.

In its sixth year, Melbourne's Face The Music is an opportunity for up to 1,000 artists and music professionals to share information, hear from industry professionals, pitch their music and discover emerging talents.

The series of workshops and keynotes falls in conjunction with Melbourne Music Week, and includes guest speakers Blink (A Low Hum, NZ) and Jamie Farkas (Vice Music, USA).

Jamie Farkas will reveal the steps to becoming a truly great global artist while Blink will talk tips on how to pull off a no-budget world tour.

As part of the Face The Music digital learning hub there will be opportunities to workshop with ARIA award winning artist/ producer M-Phazes, Tim Shiel (Faux Paus, Gotye) and German musician Oval.

There will also be chances to perfect your technique with Georgia Fields sharing her skills as a string arranger, a pre-production workshop with producer and engineer Jimi Maroudas (who's worked with the likes of Kimbra, Eskimo Joe and The Living End) alongside an APRA Songwriting Masterclass with Courtney Barnett.

In addition, Meet The Managers is an unmissable event for aspiring artists to network, with a 15-minute speed-dating setup.

It's best to get in quick, places are limited and applications close November 10 at midnight.
