Australian musician-artist Tim Minchin will return down under this summer bringing his new, one-man intimate and informal show 'An Unfunny Evening With Tim Minchin And His Piano'.
These will be Minchin's first shows in Australia since 2019, with performances scheduled in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Canberra, Geelong, Adelaide, Newcastle and Perth.The Olivier, Helpmann, AACTA, Logie Award-winning, Grammy and Tony-nominated poly-talent will perform a diverse set of songs including material from his 2020 studio album, 'Apart Together', his musicals 'Matilda' and 'Groundhog Day', as well as from his TV-film writing, and from his early songwriting days around the turn of the century.
"I'm doing 'Unfunny' shows in Australia! It's me in singer-songwriter mode with a piano and a microphone. You should come," shares Tim.
"The show does what it says on the tin, in that it's unfunny in that I'm not doing super-funny punchline stuff and I'm not doing planned stand-up comedy.
"It is intimate; the whole idea is for it to be fluid and for every night to be slightly different; I'll change the set list around, I'll be talking about how and why I wrote songs. It's more an evening with."
The set list will be fluid, the chat unplanned, and the vibe informal. He plans to wear shoes.
Tickets on sale from 12pm (local time) on 4 August.
