One of the world's preeminent bass players, genre-fluid artist Thundercat returns to Australia in 2026, touring down under a month after the release of his forthcoming album.
The 'Funny Thing' and 'Them Changes' hitmaker will headline concerts in Brisbane, Hobart, Sydney and Melbourne in May.
The live dates arrive in the wake of 'Distracted', an album that lands six years after his Grammy Award-winning 'It Is What It Is' record. It drops 3 April (pre-order it).
Thundercat has already teased the release with the 2025 singles 'I Wish I Didn't Waste Your Time' and 'Children Of The Baked Potato' (the latter song featuring Remi Wolf), as well as the 2023 standalone single 'No More Lies' with Tame Impala.
Last month Thundercat released another album joint with Lil Yachty and longtime collaborator Flying Lotus, 'I Did This To Myself'.
The album will also feature guests with A$AP Rocky, Channel Tres and Willow, as well as a posthumous feature by Mac Miller.
It's an album that laughs through the noise, folding jazz-fusion virtuosity, elastic funk and late-night introspection into songs that feel like unfiltered inner monologues: tender, funny, and painfully human.
"Just enjoy it and have fun and just know that the struggle is real and changes shape, but just to keep pushing forward," Thundercat says of what he hopes listeners take from 'Distracted'.
Tickets on sale from 10am AEDT on 10 February.
