As they continue to celebrate the 'Decade of the Thundakat', hip hop stalwarts Thundamentals have announced their new album, 'I Love Songs', will be released 21 September; the trio will also tour nationally in November-December.
"We're not the most political band, but we've been pretty conscious and we've voiced our political views on a lot of things for a long time," begins rapper Tuka, from our unpublished interview last week, "and that conversation will still continue and we'll still be active in causes we really feel strongly about.
"But the concept of the record came about as a response to us feeling like there's a lot of negative media and a lot of negative messaging in the planet right now.
"We wanted to create a body of work that made people feel good and focussed on explaining the interpersonal relationships more than the political or macro problems we have with the world."
With the album is available to pre-order now (click here for more information), the Thundas have dropped another single from 'I Love Songs', 'All I See Is Music'.
Tuka continues: "It felt like 'I Love Songs' was such a double meaning because there's a love story narratie in there that Jesse [Ferris aka Jeswon] and I are talking about, and the simple fact we've been doing this for ten years and regardless of our political beliefs or whatever, the simple fact is we love music and we love what we do."
General tickets for Thundamentals national tour go on sale from 13 August 10am. Click here for more information.
