Ambient, shoegaze, post-rock lords This Will Destroy You will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a tour of Australia next year.
Their first run of shows down under since 2015 (where they played their own headline shows and also supported sleepmakeswaves on their 'Great Northern' dates), This Will Destroy You will play dates in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne next April."Excited to be continuing our celebration of over two decades of TWDY by performing across Australia in April of 2025! Formed in San Marcos, Texas, This Will Destroy You have released seven studio albums their most recent being 2020's 'Vespertine'. Since the release of their debut 'Young Mountain' in 2006, the band have become renowned for their lengthy, atmospheric, instrumental pieces.
This tour will see the band perform in full their 2008 self-titled record, which contains such post-rock classics as 'They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light', 'The Mighty Rio Grande' and 'Threads'.
With a catalogue of hits that also includes 'Quiet', 'The World Is Our__' and 'I Believe In Your Victory', this promises to be a cathartic evening of post rock when This Will Destroy You land in Australia next year.
They will be joined by Perth instrumental trio Yomi Ship – fresh from a European tour alongside Plini and performing at ArcTanGent Festival in the UK – and popular Sydney emo quartet Mowgli, on the cusp of releasing their debut album in 2025.
