Welcome to This Week In Pop.
This week is the fourth straight week with an Australian act at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart as Cold Chisel's '50 Years – The Best Of' debuts at #1.
This week marks the longest run for local acts at #1 since late 2020, when Midnight Oil, Kylie Minogue and AC/DC ruled for a combined six weeks. But the last time there were four or more different Aussie acts at #1 consecutively was all the way back in 2015.
Elsewhere, country storms the chart again, as Post Malone lands at #2 with his first full country album, 'F-1 Trillion'.
It’s Posty’s seventh album and seventh top 10 placing.
Falling In Reverse are new at #8 with their fifth studio album 'Popular Monster'. The US rock band’s until now was 'Just Like You', which peaked at #8 in 2015.
On the Singles Chart, it’s two weeks at #1 for Billie Eilish’s 'Birds Of A Feather'. She was just crowned as the artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify at the moment, attracting 99.1 million listeners from mid-July to mid-August.
