Welcome to This Week In Pop.
This week, 5 Seconds of Summer’s bassist Calum Hood lands at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with his debut solo album: 'ORDER Chaos ORDER'; while Mount Druitt’s, ONEFOUR take #2.
5SOS has won six ARIA Awards and all five of their studio albums have gone to #1: '5 Seconds of Summer' in 2014, 'Sounds Good Feels Good' in 2015, 'Youngblood' in 2018, 'Calm' in 2020 and '5SOS5' in 2022.
Following close behind Calum are ONEFOUR, with their first full-length album, 'Look At Me Now'. Regarded as one of the pioneers of Australian drill music, the four-member group reached #7 in 2020 with their EP 'Against All Odds'.
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are new at #5 with 'Phantom Island'. Since 2010, the ARIA Award-winning band have released 27 studio albums, 56 live albums, four compilation albums, one remix album and three EPs.
On the Singles Chart, Alex Warren’s 'Ordinary' holds at #1 for the 13th straight week, making it the equal fifth longest running #1 in chart history.
The record for the most #1 hits in the shortest period since the ARIA charts were launched in 1983 is held by Delta Goodrem. During 2002-03, she racked up five chart-toppers in 12 months and 20 days: 'Born To Try', 'Lost Without You', 'Innocent Eyes', 'Not Me Not I' and 'Predictable'.
