Welcome to This Week In Pop.
This week, Lady Gaga storms onto the chart at #1 with 'Mayhem', Jennie makes it two consecutive weeks that a Blackpink member has debuted in the top 5 – and speaking of Blackpink – Rosé ties for the fourth longest-running #1 song ever.
'Mayhem' is Mother Monster’s fifth chart-topper here and her 13th album to reach the top 50. She spent three weeks at #1 in 2010 with 'The Fame Monster', two weeks in 2011 with 'Born This Way', 11 weeks in 2019-20 with the 'A Star Is Born' soundtrack, and two weeks in 2021 with 'Chromatica'.
Jennie arrives at #2 with her first solo album, 'Ruby'. She is the third member of the Korean supergroup to score a top 10 album: Rosé hit #2 in December with 'Rosie' and Lisa landed at #5 last week with 'Alter Ego'. Blackpink has racked up two #2 albums here: 'The Album' in 2021 and 'Born Pink' in 2022.
American singer-songwriter Daniel Seavey debuts at #7 with his first full-length album, 'Second Wind'. He was a member of the boy band Why Don’t We, which reached #10 in 2018 with '8 Letters' and #2 in 2021 with 'The Good Times And The Bad Ones'.
On the Singles Chart, Rosé and Bruno Mars’ 'APT.' holds at #1 for the 14th non-consecutive week. It ties with ABBA’s 1976 hit 'Fernando' as the fourth longest-running #1 song ever.
Bruno is also at #2 as his duet with Lady Gaga, 'Die With A Smile', rebounds from #7 to its previous peak thanks to the release of the latter’s new album 'Mayhem'.
GRAMMY winner Doechii has the highest debut of the week, arriving at #9 with 'Anxiety'.
