This week's album chartifacts

#1: The Weeknd ‘Dawn FM’ – Returning with fifth album, 'Dawn FM', Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd scores his fourth #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Coming two years on from 'After Hours' (#1 January ’20), 'Dawn FM' features contributions from Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Max Martin, Oneohtrix Point Never, Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia, plus actor Jim Carrey, legendary producer Quincy Jones and filmmaker Josh Safdie. The Weeknd has also topped the ARIA Albums Chart with 'Beauty Behind The Madness' (#1 September ‘15) and 'Starboy' (#1 December ‘16). 'After Hours' re-enters the chart this week at #36.
#2: Dope Lemon ‘Rose Pink Cadillac’ – ARIA Award-winning artist Angus Stone releases his fifth solo album and the third under the Dope Lemon moniker, 'Rose Pink Cadillac'. It becomes the singer-songwriter’s third solo album to debut at #2 after previous Dope Lemon album 'Smooth Big Cat' (#2 July ’19) and 'Broken Brights' (#2 July ’12), which was released under Stone’s own name. Last year, Stone and his sister Julia released the album 'Life Is Strange' (#16 August ’21), which went on to win Best Original Soundtrack, Cast or Show Album at the 2021 ARIA Awards. 'Rose Pink Cadillac' is #1 on the Vinyl Albums and Australian Albums charts.

This week's single chartifacts

#1: Elton John & Dua Lipa ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’ – Elton John and Dua Lipa make it seven weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’. #8: Lauren Spencer-Smith ‘Fingers Crossed’ – Lauren Spencer-Smith makes her ARIA Singles Chart debut at #8 with ‘Fingers Crossed’. The 18-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter first rose to prominence when she was a finalist in the 2020 series of American Idol. ‘Fingers Crossed’ has been going viral on TikTok since a snippet of the track was first posted to the platform by Spencer-Smith in November. It’s since had 23 million views.
