This week's album chartifacts

#1: P!nk ‘Beautiful Trauma’ – P!nk’s seventh studio album 'Beautiful Trauma' maintains its hold on the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for a fourth consecutive week.
#2: Sam Smith ‘The Thrill Of It All’ (debut) – British singer-songwriter Sam Smith claims #2 on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart with second album 'The Thrill Of It All'. It’s Smith’s second album to debut at #2 on the ARIA Charts; previous album 'In The Lonely Hour' (#1 April ’15) hit #1 for the first time in its 48th week in the top 50. #4: Guy Sebastian ‘Conscious’ (debut) – With his first album in three years, Guy Sebastian picks up a ninth top ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart. Sebastian’s eighth studio album, 'Conscious' is the follow-up to 'Madness' (#6 December ’14). Between albums, the singer-songwriter released the EP 'Part 1' (#31 December ’16).
#6: Polaris ‘The Mortal Coil’ (debut) – Metalcore band Polaris release their debut album 'The Mortal Coil'. It’s the Sydney group’s second appearance in the ARIA top 50, having charted at #34 with EP 'The Guilt' and 'The Grief' in February 2016.
#7: Maroon 5 ‘Red Pill Blues’ (debut) – American band Maroon 5 return with sixth album 'Red Pill Blues'. The album, which features the singles ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ (#6 November ’16), ‘Cold’ (#27 March ’17) and ’What Lovers Do’ (#7 November ’17), comes three years on from 'V' (#4 September ’14).

This week's single chartifacts

#1: Post Malone Feat. 21 Savage ‘Rockstar’ – Post Malone’s ‘Rockstar’ holds on to the #1 spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for a seventh straight week. For the second week in a row, the American rapper’s ‘I Fall Apart’ sits at #6.
#3: Sam Smith ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ – Debuting at #2 on this week’s Albums Chart with his second album 'The Thrill Of It All', Sam Smith’s former #1 single jumps back up seven spots to #3.
#7: Maroon 5 Feat. SZA ‘What Lovers Do’ – A jump of four spots to #7 puts Maroon 5’s ‘What Lovers Do’ into the top ten for the first time. It’s the American band’s tenth top ten single on the ARIA Charts; their first was with ‘This Love’ (#8 May ’04).
#9: Marshmello x Khalid ‘Silence’ – Moving up three spots to #9, ‘Silence’ becomes Khalid’s second top ten entry. His track ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ is at #5 this week. Marshmello’s collaboration with Selena Gomez ‘Wolves’ is up two places this week to a new peak at #13.
