Welcome to This Week In Pop.
This week, Taylor Swift’s 'The Tortured Poets Department' holds at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, while New Zealand born, Australian raised K-pop star Rosé makes her long-awaited full-length debut with 'Rosie'.
It marks Taylor’s seventh non-consecutive week on top with 'The Tortured Poets Department', making it the longest running #1 album so far this year. Last week it was tied at six weeks with Sabrina Carpenter’s 'Short n’ Sweet'.
Rosé’s Rosie debuts at #2. The lead track, 'APT.' with Bruno Mars holds at #1 on the singles chart for the sixth non-consecutive week.
Sabrina remains at #3 with 'Short n’ Sweet', but also debuts at #59 with the EP 'Fruitcake', her first Christmas record. It includes five original tracks (including a Christmas version of her song 'Nonsense', which peaked at #23 last year), plus a cover of 'White Christmas'.
Rounding things out, Christmas continues to creep up the top 20 of the Singles Chart, with Mariah Carey’s 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' at #8, and Wham’s 'Last Christmas' at #10.
