Welcome to This Week In Pop.
This week, Taylor Swift’s 'The Life Of A Showgirl' storms onto the ARIA Albums Chart at #1, marking her 14th chart topper and bringing her total weeks at #1 to 69.
Taylor ranks #2 on the list of artists with the most #1 albums since the ARIA charts started in 1983. Jimmy Barnes is ahead of her, with 16 chart-toppers as a solo act (he has also hit the top six times with Cold Chisel).
Taylor has now spent a grand total of 498 weeks in the Albums Chart’s top 10; 'Red' was the longest stayer, with 95 weeks. Her longest running #1 album was 'Midnights', which spent 16 weeks on top.
On the Singles Chart, Taylor sets a new chart record by capturing the entire top 12 with every track on the new album, led by 'The Fate Of Ophelia' at #1.
Aussie rock band The Rions lands at #5 with 'Everything Every Single Day'. They reached #35 last year with the EP 'Happiness In A Place It Shouldn’t Be'.
