This week's album chartifacts#1: Ed Sheeran ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ – British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran notches up his fourth week at #1 in the ARIA Albums Chart with his fourth studio album, 'No.6 Collaborations Project'. It has a long way to go to match his record of 27 weeks at the top, a feat he reached with the album '÷'.
#2: The Teskey Brothers ‘Run Home Slow’ – Melbourne band The Teskey Brothers hit the Top Ten on the ARIA Albums Chart for the first time with 'Run Home Slow'. The quartet’s second studio album comes two years on from their debut, 'Half Mile Harvest' (#18 June ’17), which returns to the Top 50 this week, at #27. Following dates in the US and Europe, The Teskey Brothers return to Australia in November for a national tour.
#3: Northlane ‘Alien’ – Northlane score a fourth Top Ten entry with 'Alien'. The Sydney metalcore band’s fifth studio album is the follow-up to Mesmer (#3 Apr. ’17). Northlane previously topped the Albums Chart with 'Node' (#1 August ’15). 'Alien' has debuted at #1 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#6: Tool ‘Ænima’ – With the release of their back catalogue to digital services for the first time and the announcement that their first studio album in 13 years, 'Fear Inoculum', will be released at the end of August, American band Tool take five places in this week’s Top 50. The highest-placed album, 'Ænima', has returned to #6, the position it debuted at in October 1996.
#7: Drake ‘Care Package’ – Drake releases his first compilation, 'Care Package'. The album includes tracks the Canadian rapper recorded between 2010 and 2016 that weren’t previously commercially available. Drake also debuted in the Top 50 earlier in the year with the re-release of his 2009 mixtape 'So Far Gone' (#34 February ’19).
This week's single chartifacts#1: Tones And I ‘Dance Monkey’ – After hitting #1 for the first time last week, Tones and I’s ‘Dance Monkey’ holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a second week. The Byron Bay artist’s third single, ‘Never Seen The Rain’, has jumped up eight spots to score a new peak at #24 in its third week on the chart. Her first single ‘Johnny Run Away’ lands at #17, giving her three songs in the Top 25.
#4: Ariana Grande & Social House ‘Boyfriend’ (Debut) – Ariana Grande scores a third Top Ten entry on the Singles Chart in 2019 as she teams up with pop duo Social House on ‘Boyfriend’. The American star charted in the Top Ten earlier in the year with ‘7 Rings’ (#1 January ’19) and ‘Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored’ (#2 February ’19). ‘Boyfriend’ has been included on the Social House’s debut EP, 'Everything Changed…', which was released this week.
#9: Blanco Brown ‘The Git Up’ – Blanco Brown’s ‘The Git Up’ continues its steady climb up the chart. In its eighth week in the Top 50, it’s up one more spot to claim a new peak at #9.
