This week's album chartifacts
#1: Ed Sheeran ‘÷’ – After returning to the top spot last week, '÷' holds #1 again this week for Ed Sheeran. It’s the album’s 14th week in the top spot. With this being the 28th chart for 2017, '÷' has spent half of the year to date at #1.#2: Stone Sour ‘Hydrograd’ (debut) – American rock band Stone Sour score their highest ever peak on the ARIA Albums Chart with 'Hydrograd'. The group’s sixth studio album comes four years on from 'House of Gold & Bones Part 2' (#4 April ’13), their previous chart peak.
#4: Katy Perry ‘Witness’ – Following Katy Perry’s promo tour this week, 'Witness' has climbed back up six spots. It’s the album’s fourth week in the chart. ‘Swish Swish’ has picked up a new peak on the Singles Chart, jumping up 22 spots to #22.
#5: Calvin Harris ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1’ (debut) – Calvin Harris picks up his third top five debut on the ARIA Albums Chart with fifth studio album 'Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1'. The Scottish DJ/producer’s follow-up to Motion (#3 November ’14) includes the singles ‘Slide’ (#11 Mar. ’17), ‘Heatstroke’ (#23 Apr. ’17), ‘Rollin’ (#40 May ’17) and ‘Feels’ (#9 Jul. ’17).
#9: Hillsong United ‘Wonder’ – In its fourth week in the top 50, Hillsong United’s most recent release moves back up 14 spots to #9. 'Wonder'’s resurgence coincides with the religious organisation’s annual conference.

#1: Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Feat. Justin Bieber ‘Despacito’ – Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hold #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for an eighth straight week with their Justin Bieber-featured track ‘Despacito’. The single is also #1 for an eighth week in the US and has returned to #1 in the UK after slipping to #2 for a week.#2: Niall Horan ‘Slow Hands’ – In its ninth week in the chart, ‘Slow Hands’ by Niall Horan has moved up three spots to #2. The single’s new peak comes on the back of Horan’s promotional visit to Australia during the week.
#6: Imagine Dragons ‘Thunder’ – Climbing six spots from last week, ‘Thunder’ becomes Imagine Dragons’ third top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. It equals ‘Radioactive’ (#6 July ’13) as the band’s highest peak.
#9: Calvin Harris Feat. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean ‘Feels’ – In the week that Calvin Harris’ fifth album 'Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1' debuts at #5 on the Albums Chart, ‘Feels’ rockets up 17 spots to hit the top ten for the first time. It’s Harris’ eleventh top ten single and the first since ‘My Way’ (#9 October ’16).
