With the ongoing uncertainty about interstate travel and issues related to COVID, This That Festival have postponed their Newcastle and Brisbane events, scheduled for next month, to spring 2021.
This That was set to welcome the likes of Client Liaison, Crooked Colours, Dune Rats, Hayden James, Mallrat, San Cisco, Allday, The Presets, The Rubens, Chillinit, Confidence Man and The Chats. This That will now take place on 30 October at Sandstone Point in Queensland and 6 November in Newcastle.
Event organisers are working to "lock everyone in for the rescheduled dates, whilst also looking to add more great acts".
This That statement:
'We're really sorry THIS THAT fam, we knew this wouldn't be easy and this news is going to sting.
'THIS THAT and its stakeholders are following the consultation advice we have had with the Local, State and National authorities unfortunately announce today that we must sadly confirm the need to reschedule the NSW and QLD events planned for February.
'Due to State Government and current standing Federal Government Public Health Orders regarding COVID-19, multi-stage mass music gathering events are not permissible in 'true' festival format just yet.
'Coupled with planning timelines, this has made it impossible for us to deliver the well-loved THIS THAT festival format by February – one that would both satisfy current government compliance, and more importantly give you the full THIS THAT experience you've come to love.
'We understand the inconvenience this has caused everyone involved. Please consider holding on to your ticket to support live music. If you can’t make the new dates, a refund window is now open [cut-off date and time for re-fund tickets: January 18th 5pm local time]. You can also request a name change on your ticket at any time through Oztix.
'We're currently working with our wonderful line-up to lock everyone in for the rescheduled dates, whilst also looking to add more great acts.
'In the meantime. Stay safe, and have a great New Years.
'Love TT'
