Thelma Plum, the 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Brisbane, has cast a spell on all in her path since her first demo, 'Father Said', won triple j's Unearthed competition last July. The folks at The Aviary are no exception.
Thelma has opened national tours for Bob Evans and Emma Louise, and played slots at the Bleach, St Kilda and Woodford Folk Festivals before jamming her tent at Bluesfest in April.
Thelma's first national headline tour, to celebrate the release of debut EP Rosie, is winding its way around Australia this month. Led off by the irreverent, sunny burst of self-assertion that is 'Around Here', the six songs demonstrate that Rosie is that rare artist who's arrived on the public stage fully formed.
Thelma will play a free show for The Aviary Rooftop Sessions on Sunday July 28 from 4pm with support from local singer-songwriters Amanda Merdzan and Sarah Pellicano.
