After her long-awaited return in May with the the single 'Backseat Of My Mind', Australian singer-songwriter Thelma Plum builds on the momentum built with another sample from her forthcoming 'Meanjin' EP.
'When It Rains It Pours' is a gorgeous slice of indie pop that sparkles with Thelma's rich vocals as she sings about missing her family and the importance of each individual's own heartland."After far too much solo time spent in lockdown, I was sitting on my balcony watching my neighbours set up this extravagant looking dinner party during a classic Brissie downpour," Thelma says of the new single.
"I was lonely and missed my family terribly. I longed to be sitting around a table with them, but I wrote 'When it Rains It Pours' instead!"
Thelma will also embark on a national tour commencing in late August visiting Blue Mountains, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Sydney before finishing at Good Day Sunshine Festival in Busselton.
And she's bringing some special friends. "I can't believe I am lucky enough to have both GRAACE and Jem Cassar-Daley join me on this tour. They are artists I adore, and I can't wait to see you all!"
Next month Plum will release the 'Meanjin' EP, a collection of songs that hearts her home town. "We all know what happened at the start of 2020," begins Plum.
"I was in the middle of recording an album in London when the world changed and in between lockdowns and floods I kept working on music, and it became apparent that I had a whole separate body of work which was a love letter to my home town Meanjin – so here it is for you all."
