Whoopsy daisy... The Wombats have let the cat out of the bag that the folks at Splendour In The Grass won't be happy about announcing during a live stream (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) that they will “definitely” be playing Splendour In The Grass this year.
“If anyone’s listening from Australia, we’re playing Splendour In The Grass this summer,” drummer Dan Haggis cheekily told fans.
“Our manager just said we can tell ya.” Fast forward to the 17-minute mark to hear Dan talk about Splendour.
The band were live streaming to announce details of their new album, 'Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life'.

Bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen was a little more coy via the group's Instagram live stream. “We are coming to Australia… I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say this,” before confirming what Dan had told fans. “We are definitely playing Splendour In The Grass.”

The Wombats formed in Liverpool back in 2003, and their studio albums 'A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation' and 'This Modern Glitch' helped them gain a cult following through their perfect combination of angsty lyrics and upbeat pop music.
The lads were last in our neck of the woods last year as part of the Groovin The Moo series.
