You’ve heard ‘Big Red Car’. . . Now get ready for something a little different!

Multi award-winning children’s music group The Wiggles have dropped a new single and video promising to rev up the fun. ‘Big Red Ute’ is a lively, country-rock infused track inviting young listeners and parents to hop on board, for an exciting musical journey.

It blends The Wiggles’ iconic, signature upbeat melodies, playful lyrics, and an irresistible beat – it’s sure to delight on any road trip.

‘Big Red Car’ has become an instantly recognisable staple in The Wiggles’ discography. . . Now, the group have unveiled their new, official roadworthy vehicle: the Big Red Ute.

“’Big Red Ute’ is a playful nod to our original ‘Big Red Car’, but with a country rock twist that’s perfect for kids and parents alike,” Anthony Wiggle says. “There’s something truly special about taking everyday things like electric windows, cup holders, and the sound of the engine, and turning them into exciting adventures for children. Young minds have a beautiful way of being fascinated by the simplest things. A child might hear the ‘vroom’ of an engine or see a window rolling up, and suddenly, it’s magic.”

If a brand-new banger wasn’t enough, there’s more to celebrate today – The Wiggles will throw on their cowboy/cowgirl hats as they take the Big Red Ute to Australia’s country music capital to perform at Tamworth Country Music Festival. They’ll be taking their show off road to perform two very special shows at Australian Equine And Livestock Events Centre. . . Making this the first time The Wiggles have performed at such a unique venue, usually reserved for rodeos and horse cutting events.

“We’re so excited to introduce the ‘Big Red Ute’ at the Tamworth Country Music Festival! This song has a country rock feel, but it’s also full of fun, imaginative moments that children will love,” Lachy Wiggle says.

“For us, it’s about encouraging that sense of wonder, giving little ones a musical experience where they can clap along, stomp their feet, and go ‘vroom vroom’ all the way! And the best part is, parents will be tapping their toes right alongside them. We can’t wait to see everyone at Tamworth joining in on the fun!”

Anthony Wiggle continues, “‘Big Red Ute’ is all about celebrating those little wonders that kids notice – things we adults sometimes take for granted. And the best part? It’s a song families can sing and dance to together, and we can’t wait to perform it at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.”

‘Big Red Ute’ is out now. The Wiggles play 2025 Tamworth Country Music Festival on 21 January.
