Australian folk-roots legends The Waifs will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album 'Up All Night' with a massive Australian tour.
An indie record that produced the hits 'London Still', 'Lighthouse' and 'Fisherman's Daughter' as well as scooping up four ARIA Awards (including Best Independent Release), 'Up All Night' propelled the trio into the mainstream culminating in them touring with Bob Dylan on his Australian and North American tours in 2003.The group of sisters Vikki Thorn and Donna Simpson as well as Josh Cunningham will be on the road from early June to late September with 40 dates scheduled across metro and regional centres as well as a number of festivals.
Each set will feature the band playing 'Up All Night' as well as sprinkling in a number of other Waifs hits.
The tour will also see a number of special guests appearing at select dates including Josh Pyke, Mick Thomas, Jeff Lang, Jordie Lane, Liz Stringer, and Felicity Urquhart (who's married to Josh) plus Missy Higgins in Melbourne (Missy's first national tour was as the support act on the 'Up All Night' tour in 2003).
The Waifs will also release 'Up All Night' on vinyl for the very first time.
Recorded between LA and Melbourne, with Canadian producer Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, U2, Willie Nelson, Neil Yong, REM) and ARIA Award-winning Australian producer Chris Thompson, 'Up All Night' debuted at #3 on the ARIA charts. While 'London Still' was voted in at #3 on the triple j Hottest 100.
