Indie art-rock group, The Veils return this spring, their first Australian shows since 2009.
The British-New Zealand band fronted by singer-songwriter Finn Andrews will headline concerts in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane late November.The run of shows follows the release of The Veils' first studio album in seven years, the double record '...And Out Of The Void Came Love' that landed in March this year.
Fans can expect a set list mixed with the new material as well as cuts from the group's lauded early Rough Trade albums 'Nux Vomica' and 'Sun Gangs', through to 2016's incomparable 'Total Depravity' (that was produced by El-P of Run The Jewels).
'And Out Of The Void Came Love' is an album Andrews created to be listened across two sittings, with a short break between. "Make a coffee or smoke a cigarette – but don't mow the lawn or go to the movies or something, that takes too long," instructs Andrews.
The Veils music has also been used regularly in movies and TV shows, with directors like Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton and David Lynch having all used their music on their soundtracks.
"I am overjoyed to announce the release today of our new double album '...And Out Of The Void Came Love'," Finn shared back in March.
"This occasion is bittersweet because, although I hoped this day would come, these songs must now find their way out in the world without me.
"I only hope that I have equipped them well enough to face the elements on their own, and that they will live a full and varied life. Do please let me know how they're getting on out there from time to time."
