American emo, post-hardcore legends The Used are heading to Australia in 2025 as part of their global 25th anniversary celebrations.
The Utah band – who first rose to fame in 2002 when their self-titled album dropped on Reprise Records, featuring a trio of their biggest hits: 'The Taste Of Ink', 'Buried Myself Alive' and 'Blue And Yellow' – will play three concerts per city in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth next August-September. "See you next year Australia 🤘🏽."The celebration will highlight their first three albums performed in full (one per concert): 'The Used' (2002), 'In Love And Death' (2004) and 'Lies For The Liars' (2007). Each concert will also feature an encore of some of the band's other hits.
"Overwhelmed! These first three records are what put The Used on the map. I can't wait to experience the joy in playing all three records from front to back," lead singer Bert McCracken says. "I know it will be an amazing time. I wouldn't miss it for the world. Sending love to you all and I hope to see you there!"
'In Love And Death' produced such iconic cuts as 'All That I've Got', 'I Caught Fire', 'Under Pressure' (a collaboration with My Chemical Romance) and 'Take It Away'.
"We feel extremely lucky and humbled to have been a part of something way bigger than ourselves for the past 25 years," bassist Jepha adds. "To everyone that has been there from the beginning or is just starting out your adventure with us thank you. Here's to the next 25!"
'Lies For The Liars' also features a number of The Used's biggest bangers, including 'The Bird And The Worm' and 'Pretty Handsome Awkward'. Drummer Dan Whitesides shares: "We can't wait to play all of these songs from the first three albums, they mean so much to us as we know they do to so many people."
