Last month, Canada saw double as Gold Coast DJs, Brooke and Ellie Kelaart aka The Twins get played eight cities across the Great White North.
Armed with their colourful outfits, blow-up unicorns and stompin’ tunes, The Twins showed the Canucks how Aussies really do it.
Wed 11 Feb
Well we touched down in freezing Canada. First stop is Ottawa and a snowstorm has hit! Definitely not on the Gold Coast anymore!
Thu 12 Feb
Played at Maison Nightclub in Gatineau tonight; was a great start to the tour with many Jager bombs and tequila to keep us warm! Stayed on Aussie time and ended up partying through till the morning at some after-parties.
Fri 13 Feb
Had a four-hour drive from Ottawa to Toronto today to play at the Ivy in Vaughn. Still getting use to the snow everywhere and slippery roads – it was also a nice -25 degrees today. Ivy is such an amazing, upscale club with a few Canadian celebs popping in all night, and of course again partied on through the night. Curse you jetlag!
Sat 14 Feb
Drove back to Ottawa today (another four hours) stopped by The Big Apple on the way but didn’t get out of the car for a photo as it was too cold and we were too hungover, haha! Third night in a row of shows and we are starting to fade out... but once we got to Flybar and caught up with some of the Canadian friends we've made so far we were excited for another fun night!
Sun 15 Feb
Headed back to Toronto today (so many times up and down that highway haha). We have a few days off now in-between shows. Looking forward to some sleep and shopping in the city!
Mon-Wed 16-18 Feb
We had a couple days off to explore Toronto, ended up doing a lot of shopping and managed to fit in going to watch '50 Shades Of Grey' ;)
Today we are flying to Edmonton! Excited for this gig; we have played with these guys before and it's a great venue :)
Fri 20 Feb
Got to Union Hall and caught up with a photographer friend of ours to take some photos before the gig. Ended up having a few too many shots and do not remember getting home.
Sat 21 Feb
We flew over to Calgary today, not as cold here; it was quite warm and five degrees :P It's our last show tonight and everyone is pretty excited to finish the tour off with a bang! Went and checked out the venue this arvo and it's a huge room with a cool set-up :)
Sun 22 Feb
Had some more Canadian friends drop by the gig last night; we had such a great tour and the last show went smoothly! Have the day off to chill before we head home on Monday. We love Canada and have made so many new friends and contacts we can't wait to head back :)There's talk of another Canadian tour later in the year so keep your eyes on our Facebook and Instagram for the dates and venues!
