Equal parts beauty and brutality, four-piece psych-rock outfit The Sword will make the trek from Texas to Australia this September.
The guys will play every mainland capital city (sorry, Tassie!), bringing classic fan favourites as well as the new hits from their latest release 'Used Future', which features 'Deadly Nightshade', 'Used Future' and 'Twilight Sunrise'.
Lyrically, it covers a lot of ground, pontificating on mythology, science fiction and philosophy in its otherworldly delivery.
Mixing hard rock with blues and electronica, and keeping a cinematic undertone, the Austin groovers are always ready to surprise the crowd with another trick from their bag of genres.
Throbbing basslines and drum beats will reverberate through the room, but while the album is heavy, it’s also got plenty of heart, incorporating faded-guitar licks from the '60s and '70s with a decent dollop of sludge.
Fans of classic rockers like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden are sure to be spellbound by the spacey set.
