The inaugural Winter Warmer Festival at Hamilton Hotel later this month brings together two icons of Australian rock music: The Superjesus and Alex Lloyd.
Fronted by guitarist, vocalist and singer-songwriter Sarah McLeod, The Superjesus formed in Adelaide in 1994 and became darlings of Australian rock music for their 2000 hit 'Gravity'. Spawning a string of ARIA-winning hits, the group parted ways to pursue other projects in 2004 before reforming in 2013.
Two years later they released their first single in over a decade, 'The Setting Sun', and in 2016 dropped the 'Love And Violence' EP. This year saw Sarah and The Superjesus inducted into the South Australian Music Hall Of Fame, a well-deserved honour for the Adelaide-born band who are currently working on their first full-length album since 2004, due for release next year.
Alex Lloyd began his career as a solo singer-songwriter in 1997 working on his debut album 'Black The Sun', which was released in 1998. Garnering moderate acclaim, it wasn't until 2001's follow-up double-platinum album 'Watching Angels Mend' and its hit single 'Amazing' that Alex became an international sensation.
Maintaining a fairly consistent stream of creative output, last year Alex released his newest album 'Acoustica' which featured re-imaginings of some of his biggest hits. In recent years Alex has styled himself as an independent artist, 'Acoustica' becoming his best-charting independent release.
Winter Warmer Festival heats up the Hamilton Hotel this June for a day of music, food and fun. Joining the headliners is a selection of local acts including Transvaal Diamond Syndicate, The Sugar Shakers, Faleepo Francisco, Sametime, Venus Envy and Daryl James.
A new event to help liven up the cooler months, Winter Warmer Festival also features a broad range of food and drink options plus free fun for the whole family.
