British hip hop, grime artist, The Streets returns to Australia in 2024 – his first live dates down under since 2019.
Already slated to play Golden Plains Festival, and fresh from dropping his sixth studio album 'The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light' (his first record in 12 years), The Streets aka Mike Skinner will headline concerts in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane next March.Fans can expect the usual Streets live show doused in bass, garage, and house beats as Skinner flows seamless about existential dread and imperfect romance alongside biting social commentary, all delivered with a little cheek and tomfoolery.
The Streets will traverse a set list bringing to life his cult bangers ('Fit But You Know It', 'Blinded By The Lights', 'Has It Come To This' and others) from 'Original Pirate Material' and 'A Grand Don't Come For Free' right through to the new cuts like 'Troubled Waters' and 'Too Much Yayo'.
Skinner also made his directorial debut in a feature film of the same name as his new album; he wrote, directed, shot, edited, scored, and funded the movie – he even created his own special effects. 'The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light' film is a tripped-out noir murder mystery based in London's clubland.
Tickets on sale from 10am (local time) on 27 October.
