Punk rockers The Story So Far have been banned from a Toronto venue.

The action has arisen after the group's singer, Parker Cannon, aggressively drop-kicked a defenceless female fan off stage (who was trying to take a selfie while the band was playing), during TSSF's performance at Mod Club, Toronto, on 10 April.

The incident was captured by a fan video and features Cannon kicking the woman from behind around the 35-second mark. The video also captures numerous other fans invading the stage before crowd-surfing back into the audience without interference from Cannon.

Mod Club owner Jorge Dias, who has banned the band from the venue, told CBC News Toronto he had never seen anything like it in their 14 years of operation. "We are appalled by the actions of the singer," he said in an e-mail. "That was a very cowardly act."

This is not the first time Cannon has violently forced a fan from stage. At a show in Houston last year, Cannon kicked another fan from behind, this time a man, for also attempting to take a selfie. Fast forward to the 12:19 mark to watch.

The band are renowned as an anti-selfie band. But c'mon guys. Kicking someone from behind who is not expecting such a violent act is spineless.
