Garage blues-soul rockers, The Schizophonics return to Australia in March with the San Diego husband-wife duo locking in eight east-coast concerts.
Already revealed on the Tent Pole Festival line-up in Geelong (alongside Pavement, Spiderbait, Black Lips and others), singer-guitarist Pat Beers and drummer Lety Beers will headline their own shows in Wollongong, Sydney, Central Coast, Melbourne (x2 shows), Brisbane and Gold Coast. For their standalone gigs, The Schizophonics will be joined by The Unknowns (who feature members of The Chats).
"The time has come to unleash some killer news! We are going to be playing in Australia and New Zealand all of March! Super excited to be sharing the first half of the tour with our new favourite band The Unknowns."
With three studio albums to their name, their most recent longplayer was last year's 'Hoof It' that features the single 'Desert Girl'.
Fuelled by the unbridled rock & roll soul energy and showmanship of The MC5, The Schizophonics blues-soul flavoured '60s garage rock harks back to the likes of Iggy Pop, Little Richard, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and The Sonics.
