After helping launch Oxford Art Factory's 18th birthday celebrations last night with an intimate, sold-out show in the Gallery space, The Rubens will migrate to the main room in August to celebrate their own anniversary.
It's already been a decade since the lads from Menangle, New South Wales, released their ARIA Gold-certified sophomore album 'Hoops' – a record that propelled the group to national prominence. It would peak at #2 on the ARIA Album chart, be nominated for Australian Album Of The Year at 2015 J Awards, and the title track 'Hoops' (produced-mixed by Eric J: Flume, Dua Lipa, Tove Lo, The Teskey Brothers) would take out #1 in the Hottest 100.
The Rubens will camp out at Oxford Art Factory's main room 22-24 August for three intimate performances that will revisit the 'Hoops' era playing the hits and a selection of fan favourites from the record as well as a career-spanning set list that showcases their evolution across five acclaimed albums.
It's a rare chance to experience the energy of 'Hoops' live as the band reflects on where they've been and teases what's to come. It also forms part of their friend's Oxford Art Factory's 18th birthday party series.
"Thanks to everyone who snapped up tix for our 10 YEARS OF HOOPS launch at the Oxford Art Factory Gallery. We are coming back to Oxford Art Factory (main room) for three SPECIAL NIGHTS in August to play songs from the album and all your faves."
Tickets on sale from 8am AEST on 24 June.
