Australian electronic icons, The Presets will get the party started at Melbourne's Live At The Garden this spring.
The duo of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes, who have amassed seven ARIA Awards and built a sonic arsenal featuring such dance-floor classics as 'My People', 'Paradise', 'Ghosts', 'Martini' and 'This Boys In Love', will bring the rave to the Royal Botanical Gardens on 15 November."MELBOURNE. . . let's get it! Fresh from dropping the single 'World Collapsing' with Willaris. K, The Presets will be joined by electronic OGs Midnight Juggernauts ('Into The Galaxy' and 'Shadows') performing a DJ set alongside a live performance from dance-pop trio Haiku Hands ('Not About You', 'Jupiter', 'Fashion Model Art').
If that wasn't enough, Joey Lightbulb also joins the line-up as a special guest opening DJ; the one-stop party shop is in hot demand, having recently sold out two shows at Melbourne's renowned venue The Night Cat.
"ARE YOU THE ONE. . . who will fire up your group chat and organise tix next Tues 1pm?" asks Joey Lightbulb. "Absolutely pumpernickled to be asked to warm up for The Presets at Live At The Gardens.
"I recall seeing them turn The Sup' sideways at my first Meredith ('the hot one') in 2006 and I've admired their rocky grit ever since. I played 'Steamworks' at Gershwin Room a couple of years ago and thought 'Why don't I close gigs with this more often?'
"Gen Xers, millennials, Gen Z all got around it, there's such a pelvic chug to so many of their tracks. I remember landing in LA in 2009 and a cool African-American guy in a convertible was blasting 'My People' out across Venice Beach as I took the basketball court.
"These days I spin 'Downtown Shutdown' and 'Martini', the latter feels like KYE and my song after she jumped onstage at my Loch Hart Music Festival set and threw wild shapes, as we shared a reciprocal Luna Park smile at our good luck.
"Anyways, I'm already seven songs into prepping a two-hour set, I'm opening 5.30-7.30pm so no dilly dallying, straight to the Gardens/ Poolroom on Nov 15 with 6,000 others 'ravin', not behavin''."
