Bar-hop till you drop through Port Adelaide when the heritage precinct transforms into a live music extravaganza for annual event The Port Rocks.

It's a day of hot rods and hot bods, with rock & rollers encouraged to dress in their Sunday best to step out for a stroll as eight venues host a boatful of live bands and artists.

Kick the day off at 10am with the Adelaide Cruisin' Classic Show & Shine Display in the North Parade car park. DJ Jess Mallia will be on hand spinning discs as punters drool over the classic cars and bikes.

Meanwhile, over at Hart's Mill Precinct will be Shannon's Chrysler Car Club hosting an incredible display of classic cars.

Cassablanca’s Pin Up Parade roll out their funky fashion statements from 2-3pm when the Show n Shine and Pin Up winners will be announced, followed by a performance by retro Teddy Boys, The Lincolns who will win hearts with their classic spin on Brit style. The local Adelaide four-piece came together in 2011 and have built a sturdy reputation on their high-energy rollout of '50s rock & roll and rockabilly.

As the sun dips in the sky, the live music picks with a line-up of acts performing across the participating venues, including jazz legend Marlene Richards at The Newmarket Hotel, Jacqui Lim playing Korked Wine Bar and Kelly's Wayke playing Railway Hotel.

Then it's over to Michonne Reds & Whites Wine Bar to enjoy the stylings of singer-songwriter James Carigg, then The Lighthouse Wharf Hotel for Brendan Lee and finally the Commercial Hotel for local rockers Heavy Load.

The Port Rocks takes place 24 February.
