American punk-rock veterans The Menzingers are headed back to Australia in 2024.
Last down under just before the world closed down in 2020, the 'I Don't Wanna Be An Asshole Anymore' band will headline concerts in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this August. The Menzingers will be touring their 2023 record 'Some Of It Was True', a collection of songs that finds the group embracing their life journeys as well as remembering to have fun.
"Written over the last two and a half years in hotels, backstages, basements, and rehearsal rooms and recorded during a life-changing retreat down south, 'Some Of It Was True' is the most realised version of what we set out to do when we started this band 17 years ago – have fun and be ourselves.
"'Some Of It Was True' is a collection of 13 songs centred around the prospect of hope and all the uncertainties that accompany it. Some songs are acts of love and joy, while others are in a never-ending search for it.
"Together, they're stories written from experiences of our own and from those we met along the way."
Coming along for the ride will be local legends The Cutaways (Brisbane show), Something Something Explosion (Melbourne show) and Chinese Burn Unit (Sydney show).
Tickets are on sale.
