Irish trad favourites, The Mary Wallopers return to Australia in 2025.
With their rebellious re-imaginations of century-old songs like 'Cod Liver Oil & The Orange Juice' and 'Eileen Og', the Dundalk outfit will headline gigs in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Wollongong and Melbourne in September. "Here we go again Australia! We're coming for ye this September and we cannot wait."Influenced by Irish punk urban poet Jinx Lennon, The Mary Wallopers began building a following during the first stages of COVID lockdowns, turning their home into a makeshift pub and live-streaming their trad sessions, often with hilarious results.
A band whose songs are about 'f...ing and drinking and hanging landlords', The Mary Wallopers have quickly gained a cult international audience, selling out acclaimed venues in the UK, US, Europe and beyond, as well as inducing mosh pits at Glastonbury.
Led by brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy, the upcoming tour follows the band's second album 2023's 'Irish Rock 'n' Roll', and 2024 EP 'Home Boys Home'.
Tickets on sale from 11am (local time) on 17 March.
