Aussie rocker Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea) reprises his Helpmann Award-winning role as Johnny Cash in 'The Man In Black – The Johnny Cash Story' for a national tour this year.
After the sell-out success of last year's limited season at Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne, 'The Man In Black - The Johnny Cash Story' has been expanded into a massive national tour.
Tex will be joined by Rachael Tidd, playing Johnny's wife June, as well as the Tennessee Four as they work through the late music star's incredible life and songbook in a show that has come to be embraced by music-lovers.
An outlaw of Australian music, Tex is a legend in his own right having fronted The Cruel Sea and Beasts Of Bourbon, and working with Tex, Don & Charlie and The Dark Horses.
Though Johnny passed away in 2003, his legacy is endless and remains of the most revered and influential artists of the 20th century with songs like 'Solitary Man', 'Ring Of Fire' and his heart-wrenching cover of Nine Inch Nails' 'Hurt'.
