Two of American's biggest underground emo acts of the early 2000s are joining forces for a tour of Australia.
The Juliana Theory and The Spill Canvas will land down down under in July for a trio of shows, hitting Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.For any diehard emo fan, Pennsylvania natives The Juliana Theory offered a non-commercial approach to music influencing a generation of emo musicians with their albums, 1999's 'Understand This Is a Dream' and 2000's 'Emotion Is Dead'.
The latter record celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025, with the band's Australian shows to see them perform 'Emotion Is Dead' in its entirety (the record features the tracks 'We're At The Top Of The World', 'If I Told You This Was Killing Me, Would You Stop?' and 'Into The Dark').
"Australia, we've missed you! So we're headed down under in July to play 'Emotion Is Dead' in its entirety while our homies The Spill Canvas play 'One Fell Swoop'. This is going to be epic," shares The Julia Theory.
Tales of love, loss and yearning are The Spill Canvas' calling card. The South Dakota band led by singer-guitarist Nick Thomas will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album 'One Fell Swoop' that features fan favourites 'Polygraph, Right Now!', 'Self-Conclusion' and 'Staplegunned'.
