Scottish post-punk, noise-pop legends The Jesus And Mary Chain return to Australia in 2024 to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
An influential band across multiple generations (including being the chief source of inspiration for My Bloody Valentine and Nirvana), The Jesus And Mary Chain will headline concerts in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in August.Centred around core and founding members the Reid brothers (Jim and William), The Jesus And Mary Chain oeuvre features such classics as 'Just Like Honey', 'April Skies', 'Sometimes Always', 'Head On', 'Happy When It Rains' and 'About You'.
After four decades, the East Kilbride natives continue to shape the post-punk landscape with a legacy that continues to inspire awe and reverence as highlighted by the band's most recent studio record 'Glasgow Eyes' – their second album in 26 years following 2017's 'Damage And Joy' – that fuses electronic and rock tones with their punk roots.
"We've never fit in anywhere, and that's just fine with us. We are the party, and that's all that matters," Jim Reid says.
Tickets on sale from 12pm AEST on 8 May.
