The Sydney Summer Series promises to bring 'the year's biggest musical parties' to The Domain throughout January and will kick-off in superstar style (12 January) with an opening party featuring an all-star line-up of R&B, disco and funk icons including The Jacksons, Kool & The Gang and Village People.

Update - 10 October, 2018: The Summer Series has been extended to a national tour to include shows in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth January 2019.

Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Jacksons, featuring original members Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon, will lead the charge, playing the hits that started a dynasty including 'Can You Feel It', 'Blame It On The Boogie', 'ABC' and many more.

It will be a 'Celebration' when Kool & The Gang join the stage while three-time Grammy winners The Pointer Sisters will bring the 'Fire'.

Village People will be led by founding member Victor Willis parading such hits as 'Macho Man' and 'YMCA' while Sister Sledge will continue the party with 'We Are Family' and 'Can't Stop The Music'.

Sounds of the Supremes will open the party, bringing the inspiration of disco to the stage with The Supremes greatest hits of the '60s and '70s.

The Sydney Summer Series features The Jacksons, Kool & The Gang, The Pointer Sisters, Village People, Sister Sledge and Sounds Of The Supremes at The Domain (Sydney) 12 January. Tickets go on sale from 14 August at 10am local time. Click here for more information.
