Punk-rock legends The Hard-Ons with new frontman Tim Rogers (and their just released 13th studio album 'I'm Sorry Sir, That Riff's Been Taken', which is sitting at #1 on ARIA mid-week charts) will tour nationally March-April 2022.
With this year marking the 40th anniversary of the band, The Hard-Ons continue to be one of Australia's most influential acts (of any genre); who else can claim Dave Grohl, Henry Rollins, and Jello Biafra as vocal supporters, appearances at multiple Big Day Outs, and shared bills with the likes of the Ramones and Nirvana? Then there's the glut of Australian punk, alternative and rock acts who've been influenced by Ray Ahn and Peter 'Blackie' Black immense back catalogue that included a run of 17 consecutive number #1s on the Australian independent charts (that has never been bettered).
From The Meanies to Frenzal Rhomb and Private Function as well as You Am I, Spiderbait, Silverchair and Regurgitator to Magic Dirt, Powderfinger, Dirty Three and The Chats, the impact of The Hard-Ons will continued to be felt for generations to come.
"I'm thrilled to have Tim onboard, and am loving his contribution," Ray Ahn says. Blackie concurs: "How f...ing good is this!"
Tim himself is still in dream land. "I was already the luckiest goof in rock & roll and I get asked to make a racket with my heros? Strewth. Wake me up sometime will ya?"
