After six years, Brisbane’s The Good Ship are hanging up their collective caps, fascinators, assorted headpieces, costumes and finery and are calling it a ‘day’.
The salty septet have made an amicable decision to wind up the project and proudly leave behind a rich musical history including three albums, ten singles, fourteen members at various times (and more than that many guests) and a whopping 150+ shows.
2015 marks the final chapter in the story of The Good Ship with the announcement of two farewell shows, dubbed La Petite Mort (it’s French for ‘the little death’ but also has another meaning, in true Good Ship fashion).
The first ‘petite mort’ takes place in their adopted second home of Melbourne and the final curtain in their true hometown of Brisbane. Special invited guests at both shows will be Melbourne’s The Bon Scotts – a favourite band and great friends of The Good Ship who have shared many stages together over the last five years.
