American pop rockers, The Fray return to Australia in 2025.
The tour – which will land in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in December – will be part of the band's 20th anniversary celebrations of their debut album, 'How To Save A Life'."We wrote songs in our parents' basements and our grandpa's barn, dreaming of playing our music with the world one day. We never imagined that the songs from 'How To Save A Life' would still hold new meaning 20 years later," new lead vocalist and guitarist-bassist Joe King says.
"It's an incredible honour to celebrate the album's 20th anniversary with our Australian fans. We can't wait to perform these songs and share our stories with you. Come sing with us – we'll see you in December!"
The record would lead The Fray to win three awards at 2005 Billboard Music Awards, while the first two singles, 'Over My Head (Cable Car)' and 'How To Save A Life', were each nominated for a Grammy Award while also introducing the band to global stardom.
Compared to both Coldplay and Keane at the time, the record at one stage was the best-selling digital album of all time (until Eminem's 'Recovery' in 2010).
Two decades and more than twelve billion streams later, its impact remains strong, continuing to inspire and connect fans from everywhere with other fan-favourite songs including 'Look After You', 'All At Once', 'She Is' and 'Vienna'.
The band have released three more studio albums as well as 2024's 'The Fray Is Back' EP, their first project of original material in a decade. It was also their first release since original singer-pianist Isaac Slade left the band in 2022.
"Playing our first show back together is what started this whole process of releasing new music," the band posted last September. "We've learned that this music and these songs are so much more than us as individuals.
"We are so grateful to be a vessel for these songs. Our fans are the reason that we are back which is why we knew we needed to title this new music from a moment that they inspired.
"'The Fray Is Back' EP is out now. . . Come see us, come celebrate, and come reunite with this incredible community. We hope you love this music, we're back."
