Darlings of the underground, psychedelic legends The Flaming Lips return to Australia early 2025 to perform their seminal album 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots' in its entirety.
The first visit down under by Wayne Coyne and his band of Fearless Freaks in five years, The Flaming Lips will headline concerts in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane late January, early February.The first set of the concert will see the band bring to life 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots' including their iconic hits 'Fight Test', 'Do You Realize??' and 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 1'. Oh Yoshimi, they don't believe me, but you won't let those robots eat me!
The Lips will then return for a second set featuring performances of their other cult classics and lesser known fan-favourite cuts; here's hoping we receive such sonic nuggets as 'She Don't Use Jelly', 'Race For The Prize', 'The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song', 'Mr Ambulance Driver', 'Silver Trembling Hands' and 'Riding To Work In The Year 2025'.
With 16 studio albums in their arsenal, The Flaming Lips recent efforts include 2020's 'American Head', 2019's 'King's Mouth' and 2017's 'Ozzy Mlody'. In 2021, they released 'Where The Viaduct Looms', featuring 13-year-old Canadian musician Nell Smith, the album covering nine songs by Nick Cave.
