Old-school glam rockers, The Darkness are bringing their sultry concoction of sweaty rock-metal to Australia in 2026.
The English band, best known for such hits as 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' and 'Love Is Only A Feeling', will play their first shows down under since early 2024 (those concerts honoured the 20th anniversary of their debut album 'Permission To Land').This run of headline gigs will take in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong, Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart, Fremantle, Frankston and Melbourne next February-March.
"This is a special announcement for the people of the antipodes. . . We, The Darkness, are going to be performing in a town near you (if you happen to live near any of the towns that we’re playing in)."
After exploding on the scene in the early 2000s, winning three BRIT Awards (including Best British Group) and an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriters Of The Year, The Darkness have released eight studio albums across their journey, including 2025's 'Dream On Toast'.
Equal parts salacious riffage and whimsical rock & roll that leaves you with a goofy grin as your hips sway with the DNA of Elvis, the record was produced by guitarist Dan Hawkins, the album preceded by notable singles 'The Longest Kiss', 'I Hate Myself', 'Rock And Roll Party Cowboy', and 'Hot On My Tail'.
"It's been a hell of a journey, and we reckon it's our most favourite Darkness album. We worked really hard on it and hope you enjoy it," posted the band upon the album's release in March. "Big love to our fans and thanks to everyone who's supported us over the past few years. We'll see you at the top of the charts – or somewhere near!"
Don't miss your chance to catch The Darkness in full flight when they return. It's going to be loud. It's going to be fun. It's going to be one hell of a show.
So find out why we declared: 'Justin Hawkins' vocals would have made Robert Plant weep,' when they played Brisbane in 2024.
Tickets on sale from 12pm AEST on 28 July.
