Adelaide events band The Cast are getting amped to present two shows as part of Adelaide Fringe, celebrating two very different music vibes.
To kick things off, an 18-piece band will bring the passion and sunshine of Stevie Wonder's timeless hits to life in 'Wonderfull!'. The show celebrates Stevie Wonder's passion for love and community while campaigning to remove the barriers of colour, language, differences, and disability.
Next up is '80's Ladies', celebrating the brave musical women who broke out and rose to fame in the 1980s and pushed boundaries in every way possible.
“Both shows are big epic musical numbers, lush in sound,” Producer/Director/Writer/Performer Chloe Castledine says. “'Wonderfull!' is a show celebrating the music, the passion and message of Stevie Wonder. '80's Ladies' takes you back in time and is a colour and musical explosion, celebrating all the fabulous female pop diva's of the 1980s.”
The Cast have made a name for themselves and have brought many a corporate function, festival, and public event to life. It's safe to say they'll be aiming to do just that for their Adelaide Fringe audiences, too.
'Wonderfull!'
“We can't wait to showcase 100 per cent Adelaide local talent, and inspire the audiences while delivering a world-class, polished performance. Also. . . It's just going to be so much fun!” Chloe says. “We can't wait to just get in the space and play/sing/dance/do the show.”
“Both shows use the same full The Cast team. Both very big, epic and fully produced. Using all the elements we can: rich music, visual arts, lights, effects, dancers, costumes, video. . . And we're also featuring a string, and horn section.
“Both shows will deliver that signature 'soundtrack' The Cast experience. . . But also very fun. The shows differ in that 'Wonderfull!' is clearly focusing on Stevie Wonder, and cleverly weaving in his message of breaking barriers of culture and disability. '80's Ladies' is a non-stop soundtrack of all those fun bangers we grew up loving. . . And also the cast and band is female-led.”
When it comes to how Chloe is hoping audiences respond to each The Cast production this Adelaide Fringe season, her answer is simple: “On their feet! We want goosebumps, we want them to leave having been fully immersed and fully charged!”
'Wonderfull!' plays The Pyramid @ Fool's Paradise 17-18 and 23-26 February. '80's Ladies' plays The Pyramid @ Fool's Paradise 3-4,10-11,16-17 March.
