The Bunker: Brisbane Has A New, Monthly Pop-Up Music Venue

Sabrina Lawrie
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Brisbane's Mick O'Malley's Irish Bar will be taken over once a month by a new, mid-week 'pop-up' live music club called The Bunker.

The night will feature an array of local and interstate talent who have jumped onboard to be part of a series of eclectic rock & roll events. The Bunker crew will transform the space each month to create an alternative vibe much different to the regular Irish Bar feel, and future shows will feature popular underground artists from interstate and overseas.

The Bunker will kick things off on Thursday, 18 December with 'The Naked Sessions' – a free show in the vein of the popular 'Unplugged' concerts of the 1990s. Featuring Brisbane's stoner-rock queen Sabrina Lawrie, famous 4ZZZ stalwarts Flangipanis, and local riffage, rock gods Flannelette – all transforming their original compositions into pared-back acoustic-style performances for one night only.
